He said "PUSH", not "MOVE"

HE SAID "PUSH", NOT "MOVE"

"If you tell God 'NO' because He won't explain why He wants you to do something, you are actually hindering His blessing. But when you say yes to Him, all of heaven opens to pour out His goodness and reward your obedience..." - Charles Stanley

The Lord told a man he had work for him to do. He showed him a large rock in front of his cabin. The LORD asked him to push against the rock with all his might. Obediently, he did. Day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, pushing with all his might against this rock. Each night the man returned to his cabin sore, and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain. Seeing that the man was showing signs of discouragement, the devil began placing thoughts into the man's weary mind: "You have been pushing against that rock, and it hasn't budged. Why kill yourself over it? You're never going to move it." This made him start thinking the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man. "Why kill myself over this?" he thought. "I'll just put in my time, giving just the minimum effort and that will be good enough." One day he decided to make it a matter of prayer. He said, "Lord, I have laboured long and hard putting all my strength to do that what you asked" "Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half an inch. What is wrong? Why am I failing?" Compassionately, He replied, "My child, I asked you to serve me and you accepted, I told you your task was to PUSH against the rock with all your strength, which you have done. Never once did I mention that I expected you to move it. Your task was to PUSH. And now you come to me, with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinew and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have grown much and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. Yet you haven't moved the rock. But your calling was to be OBEDIENT and to PUSH and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom. This you have done. I, my friend, will now move the rock."

Many of us have been trying to move a rock, in our lives, careers, families or health, that God has only asked us to push. And we have fallen prey to the devil's antics because we failed to get God's clear instruction. The devil wasn't there when God gave you the instruction, it's for you. So do what God says and leave the rest. For those who have obeyed, you have become weary because you seem not to be able to understand what's happening; you don't seem to be making a headway. In all honesty if you look back you'd realize that you've become better from obeying God.

Beloved, sometimes, when we get an instruction from God, we tend to; from our limited understanding, try to interpret what He wants. When actually what God wants is just simple obedience and faith in Him. Exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that God's still the one who moves the rock...He's still the ROCK of ages. Happy Sunday!

THE TRUE LIGHT: 2 John 1:6
"And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it." - KJV

Let us pray: Father teach me to hear you well, so I can obey well in Jesus name.
